RTI "Semi-Custom" Test Socket Solutions

Semi-Custom Socket: A modified standard test socket body designed to accommodate more specific test requirements. Typical modifications include drilling for irregular pitch, pad size, through hole and heated technologies, and milled areas under socket body allowing for clearance of on-board circuitry.

Did you know: A single socket base will satisfy your Failure Analysis, Engineering AND Production test requirements! Simply change the lid style and watch as your socket changes from a Failure Analysis test socket to a Low Volume Engineering or Production Test socket. Use the same socket for all of your testing needs by quickly and easily switching out your lid!


RTI's 1001 standard FA lid

Lid Style 1 - Low Profile Open Top
RTI's low profile screw-down lids are designed for Failure Analysis applications. These lightweight and durable aluminium lids are perfect for Liquid Crystal testing, for use under an EMMI microscope, and for micro probing your unit under test.

Lid Style 2 - Dual Latch Clip On
RTI's dual latch clip on lids are perfect for the quick, manual exchange of packages between tests.

RTI's 1013 standard lid

Lid Style 3 - Dual Latch Push Down Clam Shell
Similar to the 901-1002 (above), RTI's dual latch push down clam shell lids are perfect for quick package switching. The socket lid connects directly to the socket base using two screws, and the clip on lid travels a small vertical distance before latching shut.

Lid Style 4 - FA Adjustable Clip On Open Top
RTI's low profile adjustable FA clip on open top lid is similar to the dual latch clip on, but offers an adjustable pressure plate and an open top. These lids are designed specific to the package dimensions.

Lid Style 5 - ENG-Low Volume Production
RTI's adjustable lid for Engineering and Low Volume Production. These lids can be modified to include a copper heat sink, and cooling fan mounted at the top of the adjustable knob.

Shown here with a screw down lid. The copper slug makes contact directly to the top of the package. RTI temperature controller required for use.

Lid Style 7 - Wafer level Porthole FA lid
Designed for wafer level test and allows 100% visibility to the edge of the UUT. A piece of quartz glass holds the UUT in place with even pressure.
