Position Summary
Jr. Mechanical Designer capable of handling engineering assignments with little or no supervision and guidance. Responsible for project management of some projects. Will perform detailed engineering design work for the development and manufacture of new or modified products. Requires at least 3rd year college ME program or equivalent experience. Part-time possible.

Required knowledge & experience
- Minimum of 3rd year college ME program or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of basic machining and machining practices
- Basic mechanical design practices
- Solid modeling experience (Solid Edge experience a major plus)
Minimum Responsibilities
- 3D design of simple mechanical assemblies, and detailed mechanical drawings of individual parts using Solid Edge
- Project responsibility for some designs
- Responsible for the generation of specifications from customer requirements
- Programming CNCs using CAM programs
- Working with CNC milling equipment as required
Helpful knowledge & experience
- Related design experience in designing semiconductor test sockets
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Knowledge of heat transfer and temperature controllers
- Experience in designing test fixtures and custom test equipment for the semiconductor, hybrid or PCB industry
- Knowledge of basic electrical components including connectors and cabling
- Basic understanding of PCB design and related electrical characteristics
- Experience in any of the following: test fixture design, semiconductor device or package failure analysis, design of custom test systems for semiconductors, design of IC package handling equipment, design of temperature chambers, or other directly related experience or education

Job Qualifications
Jr. PCB Designer with a minimum of from one to five years experience. Experience with Mentor PADs software a definite plus. Experience with the following also a plus: Orcad Schematic Capture, CAM350, and Microsoft Excel. Salary is based on experience and capabilities. Part-time is possible depending on hours available.
Job Description
Responsibilities will include generating footprints, netlist creation, and layout. Additional responsibilities, depending on experience, will include schematic capture using Orcad, panelization and Gerber generation using CAM350, some mechanical design using CAD software. There is lots of potential for growth and increased responsibility.

Job Qualifications
Experienced with manual mill and other shop tools required. Experience with CNC helpful. Good mechanical understanding and skills with manual tools, measurement, and inspection. Helpful if applicant has knowledge in CNC programming and CAD design. Must have good English and communication skills.

Part-time/Full-time: Flexible working hours, minimum of 20 hours per week (minimum of 4 hours per day).
