June 2010

The new MegaTrace is here! Robson Technologies Inc. (RTI) is the worldwide leader in automated parametric curve tracing since the purchase of UltraTest International in 2008. The new MegaTrace is ready to go right out of the box, featuting a smaller footprint on the test floor and a more ergonomic working surface. Interfaces are available in either an elastomer or OctaPogo pin format for devices with up to 2160 contacts. The latest model includes an affixed adjustable monitor and rack mounted computer. Internal design changes include new relay/switch card hardware and better airflow. Add this non-invasive mobile curve tracer to your FA lab today. See our revised Data Sheet (1.1MB) or request more information.

May 2010

Robson Technologies , Inc. (RTI) announces the latest addition to their extensive line of customizable test solutions: a low cost machined burn-in and test socket for most any package type. These reliable test sockets use a clam-shell lid design with a floating z-axis pressure plate allowing for tolerances in packge thickness. The sockets use new high performance and innovative flat pin technology for 0.4mm, 0.5mm and larger pitch devices. Multiple types of pins are available for the sockets depending on test requirements. Our highest performance pin provides a bandwidth of up to 30GHz @ -1db with a current capacity of 3.0A. Lower cost pins are available for DC burn-in applications. The pins have a high spring force suitable for lead-free packages. See our press release (693KB) or request more information.

April 2010

Robson Technologies , Inc. (RTI) releases the original 100% package visibility optical lid for delicate die level packages. Lids can be designed in a very low profile screw down format, or a dual latch clip on adjustable format. Quartz crystal, sapphire, or clear plastic materials are available for EMMI (Emission Microscopy) LSIM (Light Signal Injection Microscopy) and other photon based optical tests. Traditional FA lids require a package perimeter around a decapsulated die in order for the lid to provide contact force, a perimeter not found on wafer level packages. These optical FA lids rely on the glass making direct contact to a thin alignment plate and to the die itself. For additional information or a sample of the glass (qualified customers) click here.

March 2010

In a continuous effort to offer the highest quality customer service and web browsing experience, RTI has added breadcrumbs navigation to its website, visible in the upper right corner of every page. This is one of the many changes to the site that will help visitors find the information they are looking for much faster. New products and updated statistics have been added to the IC Test Socket and PCB/Module Test Fixtures section. Customers interested in our semi-custom sockets can view statistics, see pictures, and learn about the technologies behind our design all at the same time by selecting a socket in the sortable tables.

January 2010

Robson Technologies , Inc. (RTI) introduces The Phoenix, a semi custom test fixture that maintains an internal ambient temperature around 98.6°F (37°C) +/- 0.5°F to meet the increasing demand for testing implant medical devices. The Phoenix’ chassis uses three separate compartments to isolate the driving circuitry, heating element, and device under test (DUT). A combination of conduction and convection bring the ambient temperature to precise measurements as high as 110°F. An integrated temperature controller on the front of the fixture provides an easy way to set and monitor the internal temperature during test. See our press release (194KB) or request more information.

August 2009

RTI expands its product line to include a high performance low pin count automated curve tracer. The MT Century is a single chassis system designed to replace a manual curve tracing system. It offers the same benefits as the larger pin count systems. With 4 models to choose from, finding a system that meets your test requirements and budget constraints shouldn't be a problem. The MT Century is designed to interface with RTI's 950series test fixtures, however, this curve tracer can be modified to interface with other popular industry standard test fixtures. See our press release (447KB) and Data Sheet (936KB)

July 2009

RTI expands its product line to include high performance ATE load boards and probe cards. This additional product line accentuates RTI's mission: Offer turn-key solutions for all of your product testing needs. RTI has already been recognized for providing Credence and Kiethly remote docking interfaces in addition to Octapogo and elastomer proprietary testing interfaces. RTI's product line now includes customizable load boards and probe cards for popular systems such as Advantest, Agilent, and Teradne. See our press release (249KB)

May 2009

RTI has improved the usability of its website by adding search functionality and additional navigation to the bottom of every web page. The additional functionality will help users find essential information more quickly and easily.

Future development will include an electronically distributed newsletter. Also, keep an eye out for RTI's featured article about customized sockets in the July 2009 issue of MicroConnections Magazine!

April 2009

RTI is hiring! In order to continue meeting production demands, RTI has posted a new Immediate Opening for an Assembly Technician available April 27, 2009. The Assembly Technician will be responsible for the assembly of all RTI’s component products including test fixtures and printed circuit boards. Read more about the requirements here.

April 2009

In a continuous effort to offer the highest quality customer service and web browsing experience, RTI has added form feedback functionality to its website. Quote requests will be handled quickly and securely in a browser window rather than requiring a .pdf to be downloaded, filled out, saved and emailed.

Many web pages that highlight RTI products and services now include an option to request additional information that may not have been covered on the page. The use of customer supplied information is outlined in RTI's revised Terms of Use and Privacy Policy which can be accessed at the bottom of every webpage.

March 2009

RTI announces the release of its DevICE™ cube. This device is designed to maintain the temperature of your device during test by cooling the socket base or socket lid. For low power devices, the system can maintain the device package temperature below ambient room temperature. For high power devices it can remove heat more efficiently than other means keeping it cooler so that fault isolation methods like emission microscopy work better. Read more about this device in the preliminary Data Sheet (1.06M).

February 2009

Robson Technologies, Inc. announces the launch of its updated web site. The newly designed site features examples of RTI's extensive line of custom and standard products. It also serves as an archive of Product Solutions and allows users to electronically fill out and submit a socket Request for Quote form. Continuing RTI's commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, the new layout is designed to be intuitive, informative, and easy to navigate.

RTI launched its first site in 1997 and has updated it many times since then to match the rapid growth of the company. Planned future development includes search functionality, software downloads, and video support.

How do you like the changes to our website so far? Please !

January 2009

RTI announces the official release of its Universal BGA test socket family. These sockets are drilled to various array sizes for a specific pitch, similar to traditional BGA sockets. However, aluminium alignment plates allow for any BGA package of the same pitch, up to the maximum drilled array size, to be used in the same socket base while keeping the position of pin A1 as a constant. These sockets are ideal for FA and Engineering tests and help reduce product inventory and lower overall cost of test. For more information, view the Product Data Sheet (975k) or official PDF press release (493k).

June 2008

RTI announces the purchase of the exclusive manufacturing and sales rights for UltraTest International's (UTI) curve trace test systems. The purchase of UTI's complete product line including the MegaTrace, AutoTrace, and MultiTrace products. UTI has been the leading supplier of curve trace test systems for over 20 years and have systems located worldwide. This acquisition allows RTI to continue to offer turnkey test solutions for integrated circuits, hybrids and PCB's. Read more about it in the UTI Purchase PDF press release (52k).

September 2007

RTI has moved! Please visit the Contact Us Page for more information.

June 2006

RTI announces the 750 Series Module Test Fixture (MTF). With this customizable fixture, the lid opens fully for easy insertion and removal of the Unit Under Test (UUT). When the lid is closed, it rotates to a horizontal position before closing and the last 0.3" of travel is vertical onto the UUT for exact alignment and even pressure.
see PDF datasheet (1.8M).

January 2006
